Notes, August 2026

  1. “Less is more,” the “60% rule,” and “doing something extremely well” are really about the same thing: figure out the few things that truly matter, focus on them, and do them as well as you possibly can. For everything else, 60% is good enough.

  2. Lately, I feel like my brain is constantly looking for some kind of stimulation, and because of that, I end up consuming a lot of junk information. Maybe that’s just how the brain works. I need to learn how to quiet it down a little. When I have nothing to do, just sitting there, thinking, or spacing out is probably much better than constantly feeding my brain random information. Rubbish in, rubbish out.

  3. Realizing you’re just an ordinary person is one thing. Realizing that ordinary people can still do extraordinary things is another.

  4. Simplicity is where speed, excellence, focus, and putting the user first all come together.

  5. Humans can live to around 117, but the average lifespan is only about 73 years. Might as well do a few things that feel truly now or never.

  6. “Need” and “want” are different. A want is where the “why” eventually ends. You want it simply because you want it.

  7. Be different, rather than just better.
